Mildred Cecelia Ehrenbieth Wilson
Mildred Cecelia Ehrenbieth Wilson, 95, of Valencia, formerly of Butler, passed away peacefully at her home Saturday.
Born on July 9, 1918, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Martha Miller Ehrenbieth.
Mildred graduated from Butler High School in 1936 and was hired by the Franklin Glass Corp. in 1940. She worked at both the Butler and Renfrew locations of Franklin Glass. She began as sales manager and later became vice president. She retired from Franklin Glass in 1978.
Originally a member of St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church in Butler, she became a member of Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church in 1996 when she and her husband moved to Valencia.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband on many cruises, and in her later years she traveled with her daughter and son-in-law, spending many family vacations in South Carolina. She was an avid sports fan, always enjoying Pirates and Steelers games. She loved all dogs, and she will be sadly missed by the family’s pets.
Mildred was the beloved wife for 55 years of the late John L. Wilson, who she married on Sept. 27, 1947. She was the loving mother of Janet L. (Gary) Barkus, of Valencia.
In addition to her husband, who passed away on April 20, 2002, and her parents, she was preceded in death by her three brothers and her two sisters.
Wilson— The friends of Mildred Cecelia Ehrenbieth Wilson, who passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014, will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church in Glade Mills with the Rev.
