This Saturday Butler mail carriers, active and retired, will collect packages in addition of delivering them.
Residents are asked to donate canned goods and other nonperishable food donations by placing items at their mailboxes. Donations also can be left beside any parked U.S. Postal vehicle that day.
Food donations can also be brought to the back door of the Main Street Post Office until 4 p.m.
The one-day food drive will be conducted by the National Association of Letter Carriers with cooperation from the U.S. Postal Service. They are working in partnership with The United Way of Butler County and Butler County Community Action.
In years past, the thousands of pounds of food donated have benefited the Butler Food Bank.
Mental health recovery fest set
The Grapevine Center will host a Mental Health Recovery Fest from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 22 at it’s office at 140 N. Elm St., suite B.
The free event, which promotes “hope for all,” is to educate the community on mental health recovery opportunities and to offer a chance for people to share and experience personal stories of recovery.
Grapevine will offer food and games throughout the day, information tables and tours of the Grapevine Center’s Drop-in Center.
