Melissa Ion

Melissa Ion, 67, of Bradys Bend passed away Wednesday at her home surrounded by her family.

Born on Feb. 12, 1947, in East Brady, she was the daughter of the late Raymond E. and Mary E. (Haugh) Pfaff.

On July 22, 1967, Melissa married Wade Ion of Bradys Bend.

A 1965 East Brady High School graduate, Melissa was the deli manager at Riverside Market in East Brady for 20 years.

She enjoyed cooking and traveling, but especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Melissa was a member of the Crisswell Bible Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband; her daughter, Julann Cheesman and her husband, Ed, of Chicora; her son, Jody Ion and his wife, Jolene, of Knox; her granddaughter, Shaney Cheesman; her three grandsons, E.J. Cheesman, Austin Ion and Nathan Ion; and her sister, Barbara Pfaff of Butler.

Melissa was preceded in death by her parents.

Ion— The friends of Melissa Ion, who passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Buechele Funeral Home, 707 Kellys Way, East Brady.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Pastor Paul DeBacco of the Crisswell Bible Baptist Church officiating. Burial in Bradys Bend Cemetery will follow.The Ion family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the East Brady Ambulance, P.O.
