Kutztown, Millersville will play for PSAC title

Millersville and Kutztown reached Saturday’s PSAC Baseball Championship Game by picking up tournament semifinal wins Friday at Kelly Automotive Park.

The title game was slated to begin at noon Saturday.

Millersville (36-13) won for the 10th time in 11 games when Dan Johnson drilled a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the ninth inning, breaking a tie and giving the Marauders a 7-6 victory over Mercyhurst.

Zach Stone had three singles, two RBI and two runs scored while Tyler Orris added three singles for the winners.

Adam Zipko picked up his second win in relief in as many days, improving to 7-0 with two scoreless innings and two strikeouts.

Mercyhurst slipped to 29-13 on the campaign.

Kutztown (28-19) scored six runs in the top of the first inning and rode that outburst to a 6-2 win over Pitt-Johnstown (23-23).

Pat Flynn was the winning pitcher, scattering eight hits over eight innings while striking out five.

Thomas Romano had three singles for the Golden Bears.
