CRANBERRY TWP — Plains Presbyterian Church, 326 Plains Church Road, will host a fair from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday to introduce the new pastor, the Rev. Derek Marotta, and his family to the community.

The festival will include a petting zoo, rock-climbing wall and inflatable bounce houses. There will be a nature trail scavenger hunt, sand art activities, cemetery marker etchings and yard games.

SAXONBURG — Historian and storyteller Steven Anderson will present “Homegrown Heroes: Pennsylvania Communities in the Civil War” at 1:30 p.m. May 17 at the South Butler Community Library, 240 W.
