Wednesday — Police charged Bryan K. McFadden and Cindy Jo McFadden, 34, both of Butler with re-entering their former apartment in the 500 block of West Cunningham Street on April 7 after having been evicted.Bryan McFadden is accused of kicking a door at the home. The door sustained nearly $500 in damage. Both defendants are charged with defiant trespass and criminal mischief.6:02 p.m. Sunday — A caller reported three young men smoking marijuana behind the Broad Street Elementary School. Officers got there and found the trio, who initially tried to run away but stopped.Police believe a fourth suspect ran away. A search of the area turned up 3.2 grams of suspected marijuana in a cigarette cellophane packaging.Charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana are Christian A. Manny, 19, of Butler; Sean M. Hembree, 19, of Butler Township; and Jamie J. Rivera, 21, of Butler. Manny also is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
6:12 p.m. Tuesday — Jill Holt, 42, of Butler was caught allegedly shoplifting $104.91 in merchandise from the Walmart at Butler Commons. He is charged with retail theft.
7:40 a.m. Wednesday — Police cited the PNC Bank branch on West Main Street for an unlawful alarm activation. The citation was issued after the bank's 10th false alarm in 12 months.Wednesday — A resident in the 400 block of Summit Street reported a wallet was taken from a vehicle. The wallet was described as purple and contained $60 and a driver's license.
7:23 p.m. Wednesday— Charles Kirkwood, 48, faces several dog law violations following a neighborhood dispute over a dog on Grey Avenue in Winfield Township. Kirkwood was found with two dogs that were not registered, vaccinated or properly fed.Police said he was cited for cruelty to animals, improper confinement and housing of dogs, and failing to license and vaccinate dogs.4:07 p.m. Wednesday — Carrie L. Meier, 31, of Butler allegedly shoplifted $412 in clothing from the Boscov's store at Clearview Mall in Center Township. Police said she went into a dressing room and placed the store items under the clothes she was wearing.Store security later stopped Meier, who is charged with retail theft.7:45 a.m. Wednesday — A suspected assailant, who police did not identify, assaulted 55-year-old Donald R. Eiler, of Harrisville, who was setting up signs for PennDOT on Route 8 in Brady Township. Police did not indicate if Eiler was injured. The investigation continues.Sunday — An unknown thief stole 14 “No Trespass” signs along with their wooden stakes on Smith Road about one-half mile north of Keasey Road in Winfield Township. The property was stolen between April 17 and Sunday.
3 p.m. Wednesday — Brason Hyskell, 34, of Rimersburg was arrested after he allegedly shoplifted a flat of flowers, a garden gnome decoration and a hammer from the Walmart on Perkins Road in Monroe Township. Police said Hyksell is charged with retail theft.
