Allen Shute

Allen F. Shute, 86, of Butler passed away Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born on Jan. 23, 1928, in Corsica, the son of the late Floyd Shute and Ida (Plyler) Shute Martin.

Allen was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War.

He worked at Armco for 38 years.

He was a Protestant. He enjoyed playing card games and watching classic movies.

Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Helen (Sanford) Shute of Butler; his two daughters, Karen (Edward) Zedreck of Butler, and Brenda Shute of Butler; his granddaughter, Tammy Zedreck; his two stepgrandsons; his stepgreat-granddaughter; his two sisters, Eva Cain of Butler and Dorothy Dejeet of Monessen, and his two special girls, Penny and Dolly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Lawrence “Bill” and Floyd “Gene” Shute.

Shute — The friends of Allen F. Shute, who passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014, will be received at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.Services will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Jeffrey Curtis from Mt. Chestnut Presbyterian Church officiating.
