ZELIENOPLE — In honor of National Library Week April 14 to 19, the Zelienople Public Library, 227 S. High St., will waive fines for items returned.Also, patrons may win two tickets to the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.Other events include:At 6:30 p.m. Monday, Citizens Bank representatives will explain home buying including calculating what to spend on a home and home buying from the lender's perspective.On Tuesday, National Library Worker's Day, patrons can enjoy lunch with the staff.At 4 p.m. Wednesday, visitors will participate in Poetry Palooza Wacky Wednesday.On Wednesday and Thursday, DVD checkouts will be free. Roxy the therapy dog will visit from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday to hear children practice their reading.The library will be closed Saturday for Easter.Butler celebrates Library WeekThe Butler Public Library, 218 N. McKean St., will observe National Library Week, April 14 through April 19.Throughout the week, the library will have free DVD coupons and giveaways. HARMONY — April 18 is the deadline for prepaid reservations for the Harmony Museum's fundraising German buffet dinner Sept. 14 in the museum's Stewart Hall, 218 Mercer St.Dinner will include bratwurst, sauerbraten, German potato salad, spaetzle and other entrees, sides and desserts.Proceeds will benefit the museum operations. PORTERSVILLE — The Moraine, McConnells Mill and Jennings Commission will have two work days to remove the garlic mustard crowding native plants.From 9 a.m. to noon April 26, participants will work at the Hell's Hollow Nature Trail in McConnells Mill State Park, 2697 McConnells Mill Road.From 9 a.m. to noon May 3, work will be at the Native Plant Butterfly Trail and the Muddy Creek Oil Field in Moraine State Park, 225 Pleasant Valley Road.Groups and individuals are invited to help.
