Chimney fire is doused
CONCORD TWP — Firefighters doused a chimney blaze Tuesday afternoon at a Wright Road home.
Chief Reid Campbell of the West Sunbury Volunteer Fire Department said creosote inside the chimney walls at 132 Wright Road ignited.
“We were able to extinguish it with a chemical bag,” he said.
Crews then cleared the chimney of any buildup.
Campbell said there was no damage to the residence.
The West Sunbury and North Washington volunteer fire departments were assisted by the Chicora and Oneida Valley volunteer departments.
Fifteen firefighters responded to the 3:07 p.m. 911 call. Crews cleared the scene at 4:22 p.m.
