GIBSONIA — Kaylee Bechtold of Mars, Cierra Ritzert of Fairview Township and Alexandria Veneziano of Cranberry Township have advanced through the semifinals of the Kean Quest Talent Search to perform in the finals April 11.
Thirty-three adult vocal acts including one quartet will compete in the adult division at 7 p.m. Friday at the Kean Theatre, 5847 Meridian Road.
The talent search is sponsored by St. Barnabas Health System and benefits its free care fund.
SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University's Old Stone House will host the 63rd Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry reenactment group for Civil War Weekend 2014 on April 12 and 13.The free public program will include drills, educational sessions, a living history encampment and battle re-enactments.The Old Stone House at the intersection of Routes 8, 528 and 173, will be open for tours during the weekend. The Associated Artists of Butler County is hosting “Anatta,” the Slippery Rock University art seminar group exhibition, through Saturday at The Art Center, 344 S. Main St.A flea market of the AABC's abandoned artwork, frames, and other art and photography items will be held Wednesday through April 19.The SRU bachelor's of fine arts students will exhibit their work April 23 to 26.During April, kites are being displayed, and a build, decorate and fly a kite program will be held at 10 a.m. April 26. Cost is $5 per child ages 5 to 12.The 84th annual spring show is planned May 9 to 30.
