The Diabetes and Health Management Center of Butler Memorial Hospital, 127 Oneida Valley Road, will host a support group from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Dr. Claudia Gonzales will present “Diabetes and Eye Disease.” Attendees will be able to ask questions.

Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling the Diabetes Management Center at 724-284-4374.

The Butler After Five Women's Connection will hold a spring fling at 6 p.m. April 8 at Mac's Route 8 Café, 16 Pittsburgh Road. This is a new location and time for the group.Susan Hutchinson will present “A Gift of Time.” David Hines of Green Valley Nursery will discuss herb garden planting for spring. Heather Check will provide music.For reservations, which include dinner, call Linda at 724-285-4615 by Sunday. Reservations must be honored, canceled or used by a friend.

The Butler County Humane Society will sponsor a rabies clinic from 2 to 4 p.m. April 12 at the Alameda Park Office.A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Butler County Humane Society.For more information, call the society's shelter at 724-789-1150 or visit www.butlercountyhs.org.

An American Red Cross baby sitters training class will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 12 at the Butler Township park building.The class is for ages 11 to 15 and emphasizes prevention, safety, responsibility, leadership and professionalism.Registration is required. The cost includes books and materials. MARS — The second annual Mars Public Library “Book It” 5K and 1 Mile Fun Walk will be at 9 a.m. April 12 at the Treesdale Community Center, One Treesdale Commons, Gibsonia.Registration forms are available at marsarealibrary.org and the library, 107 Grand Ave. Registrations also will be accepted at 8 a.m. on the race day at the Treesdale Cider House, across the parking lot from the Community Center.The entry fee is payable to the library. Proceeds benefit the library.

Sessions on “How To Talk So Kids Will Listen and Listen So Kids Will Talk,” based on the book by the same name, will be 6 to 8 p.m. April 16, 23 and 30 at the Bon Aire Head Start and Child Care Site, 131 Homewood Drive.The classes will be taught by Amy Lavorini, an employee of Butler County Children's Center.To register, call 724-287-2761 or 866-348-6674.
