2:16 p.m. Friday — Harry T. Deer III was charged with defiant trespass after police found him outside an apartment in the 400 block of Shore Street.Police received a complaint from the Butler County Housing Authority stating Deer was not allowed on its property.Deer told police he was dropping his child off at the apartment and that he never left his car. However, the car was parked on housing authority property.Deer, who was notified about staying off the property March 17 and again warned by city police Wednesday, was placed in Butler County Prison on $2,000 bail.1:10 a.m. March 16 — Kylie J. Hershey, 35, of Karns City was charged with DUI and careless driving after she crashed her car into a utility pole at the intersection of East Brady and Franklin streets.Hershey was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Results of the test showed she had a blood-alcohol level of .161 percent. The legal limit to drive in Pennsylvania is .08 percent.
12:08 Friday — Matthew L. Bell, 20, of Harrisville lost control of his car on South Benbrook Road in Center Township and struck a tree. He was not injured, and he was cited for a traffic violation.9:50 p.m. Wednesday — William C. Moore Jr., 20, of Slippery Rock was charged with underage drinking after he was seen by police to be under the influence of alcohol in an apartment on Centerville Pike in Slippery Rock Township. Police were contacting Moore for information on an unrelated incident.
Wednesday — Kristen R. Shoaff, 26, of Grove City reported someone broke into her home on Old Ash Road in Springfield Township, Mercer County, and stole $1,300 worth of jewelry and $975 worth of brand name tote bags.Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 724-662-6162.6:20 a.m. Wednesday — Trisha L. Knight, 20, of Volant was charged with robbery, simple assault, theft, and harassment during an alleged domestic altercation with a 17-year-old male at a Polk Road home in Worth Township, Mercer County.Police say Knight forcibly removed an iPhone from the victim's hand before fleeing.
12:38 a.m. Thursday — A car driven by Kaitlyn E. Hovis, 20, of Volant struck a utility pole on Plain Grove Road, just south of North Liberty Road in Plain Grove Township, Lawrence County.Hovis told police she had turned out of her driveway and was making a phone call.She had minor injuries and was charged with careless driving.
