County seeking construction bids for new office bldg.
Butler County is seeking bids from contractors to erect a new office building adjacent to the government center.
The county commissioners this morning voted to advertise for construction bids.
The estimated $14 million project includes repair work to the county government center’s roof and two air conditioning units.
The four-level annex will house county Human Services and include a garage on the bottom.
Commissioners Bill McCarrier and Dale Pinkerton supported the move while Commissioner Jim Eckstein dissented.
While all three commissioners agree the county needs more office space, Eckstein prefers buying an existing building over construction.
