Chimney fire contained to flue in call at residence
ADAMS TWP — Firefighters extinguished a chimney blaze at a Dobson Road home Saturday afternoon.
Chief Bill Hayes of the Adams Area Fire District said the fire was contained to a flue pipe, so it was restricted to the exterior of the home at 341 Dobson Road.
The crew took apart a panel at the bottom of the pipe, so the debris fell to the ground once a weight was dropped down the pipe.
According to a property directory, Dennis Steele is listed as the occupant.
Fourteen Adams firefighters responded to the 4:24 p.m. 911 call. The Evans City, Callery and Middlesex volunteer fire departments responded to assist Adams, but were kept on standby at a fire hydrant.
Crews cleared the scene at 5:32 p.m.
