1:43 a.m. today — Joshua A. Sullivan, 29, of Cadogan, Armstrong County, faces drug charges after he was found sleeping in a sport utility vehicle at a parking lot on South Main Street.Officers roused the suspect and while speaking to him noticed a Mason jar containing suspected marijuana on the back seat, according to a police report. They also found a marijuana pipe in the glove box.Sullivan is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
4:06 p.m. Tuesday — Kathy Jo Rensel, 52, of Butler allegedly shoplifted three bottles of vitamins and eight medicated patch packets from the Dollar General store in Butler Commons. The stolen merchandise is valued at $23.Police said Rensel, who has three prior convictions for shoplifting, is charged with felony retail theft.
1:30 p.m. Tuesday — Damein F. Henry, 40, of Butler, was arrested on a warrant in connection with a theft Dec. 26 at the Ace Hardware store on West Main Street.Henry is charged with theft by failing to make required disposition of funds, a felony. He also is charged with 11 misdemeanor counts of theft by deception and seven misdemeanor counts of theft by unlawful taking.He was arraigned on charges and released on $25,000 unsecured bail.10:30 a.m. Tuesday — Jessica M. Kamerer, 27, of Mercer was arrested on a warrant stemming from a traffic stop at the Salvation Army parking lot on Jan. 17 during which she gave police a bogus name.Kamerer was arraigned on charges of false identification to law enforcement authorities and driving with a suspended license and placed in Mercer County Jail on $5,000 bail.11:20 a.m. Feb. 28 — A food fight at a cafeteria in the Grove City School District landed three youths in juvenile court. The students, who police did not identify, were cited for disorderly conduct.A fourth alleged food fighter, who police did not identify, is charged with having a knife on school property.
1:04 p.m. Wednesday — Corey Lee Haefner-Bittel, 37, of Butler was caught with suspected drugs following a traffic stop at Alton Street and Bessemer Avenue in Butler. Police said he faces charges of possession of a controlled substance.7:46 a.m. Wednesday — Two men were hurt in a three-vehicle, chain-reaction wreck on Interstate 79 in Cranberry Township.The crash happened when a car driven by Timothy L. Stotler, 33, of Oakmont, Allegheny County, rear-ended a car driven by Roger B. Schreiber, 58, of Export, Westmoreland County. The impact caused another collision with a car driven by Gary S. Dzura, 58, of Pittsburgh.Stotler and Schreiber, who were wearing seat belts, both suffered minor injuries. Police said Stotler was cited for following too closely to another vehicle.
3:17 p.m. Wednesday — Summer Rae Helit, 27, of Ford City was arrested on charges she stole her boyfriend's Winchester rifle and tried to sell it. Helit is accused of taking the gun from the alleged victims home on Peterman Drive in Burrell Township.The defendant was arraigned on theft and other charges and placed in the Armstrong County Jail on $15,000 bail.5:35 a.m. Wednesday — Kimberly Adams, 50, of Ford City lost control of her car on the gravel berm and struck a concrete bridge wall on Route 422 at the exit to Route 66 in Manor Township. Police said Adams was cited for a lane violation.
