Monday — A thief broke into two unlocked vehicles in the 700 block of South Center Street and stole candy and flashlights. The stolen property is valued at $25. The theft happened between 4 p.m. Sunday 5:30 a.m. Monday.
6:40 p.m. Sunday — A pickup truck struck the driver's side mirror of another pick in the opposing lane and did not stop after the crash on Dinnerbell Road just west of Golden City Road in Jefferson Township.Police said the suspect vehicle is believed to be a dark blue, 1997 to 1999 model Ford F-150 Anyone with information about the hit-and-run accident is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.Leslie S, Barnett, 50, of Saxonburg was the other driver.4 a.m. Feb. 1 — Miranda M. Snyder, 24, of Valencia was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after police were called for a report of an unresponsive woman slumped over at one of the gasoline pumps at the Kwik-fill store on Route 8 at Mercer Road in Center Township.
7:48 p.m. Sunday — Dwight E. Miller, 62, of Clarion was hurt when he swerved his pickup truck to avoid a disabled vehicle on the Emlenton Bridge and crashed into a cement barrier on Interstate 80 in Richland Township, Clarion County.Miller, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Clarion Hospital with moderate injuries.
10 p.m. Monday — Rebecca J. Marinelli, 51, of Sharon lost control of her car backing out of a driveway Springfield Township and crashed into a ditch along ice- and snow-covered School Street just east of Butler Pike.9:25 p.m. Monday — Two men, who police did not identify, were caught with suspected crack cocaine following a traffic stop on Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township. Police said charges against the suspects are pending laboratory testing of the substance.
8:58 p.m. Saturday — One person was hurt in a two-vehicle wreck in Washington Township, Lawrence County. The crash happened when a car driven by a 16-year-old Volant girl struck a sport utility vehicle on Route 19 at Potter Run Road.The other driver, Judith A. Steele, 71, of Volant, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Jameson Hospital in New Castle with minor injuries. Police said the girl, who they did not identify, was cited for a stop sign violation.
