Moniteau football job open
CHERRY TWP — The future of Moniteau’s football program is currently in limbo.
Monday night the school board opened up all the positions on the coaching staff, surprising coach Cecil Blauser.
Blauser said he reapplied for the job in November, but declined to comment any further.
In his first season, Blauser guided the Warriors to a 3-7 record, a two-win improvement over 2012, including three wins in their final four games. Blauser was hired last season after serving as an assistant under the Warriors’ three previous head coaches — Jeff Campbell, Steve Wilson and Tom Kidder. Campbell resigned after Moniteau finished 1-8 in 2012.
Moniteau athletic director Zoe McDowell could not be reached for comment.
