Turnpike detour set Sunday
ALLEGHENY COUNTY — The Pennsylvania Turnpike will be closed eastbound and westbound between the Butler Valley Interchange and Allegheny Valley Interchange for five hours this weekend.
It will be closed starting at 11:59 p.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Sunday, according to a turnpike news release.
Detour signs will be posted.
The closure is needed while crews from contractor Joseph B. Fay erect steel beams for the Rich Hill Road overhead bridge in Harmar Township, Allegheny County.
Work on the bridge is scheduled to be done in late May.
