Wednesday — Police charged Joseph M. Thomas, 23, of Butler with possession of drug paraphernalia nearly two weeks after he was arrested on a warrant at Pullman Square. The arrest Jan. 10 came after officers found him panhandling at the shopping plaza.A search of Thomas turned up a small zippered bag in his coat filled with a suspected “shooting kit” containing a syringe, spoon, tourniquet and numerous empty stamp bags of heroin.Thomas was jailed on the bench warrant that was issued Dec. 19 when he failed to appear for a Butler County Court hearing in a misdemeanor drug case.

2:21 p.m. Sunday — Cars driven by Katherine R. Slack, 33, of New Castle and William J. Schaffner, 54, of Meadville, Crawford County, collided on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township. Police said Slack was cited for failing to yield the right of way.7:28 p.m. Saturday — Mark C. Ross, 46, of Prospect was hurt in a two-vehicle wreck in Muddy Creek Township. Ross lost control of his car on icy Route 422, just east of Skyline Lane, and collided with a sport utility vehicle driven by Joseph D. Savena, 45, of Portersville.Ross, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered a minor injury. Police said he was cited for driving too fast for conditions. The Portersville Volunteer Fire Department and Butler Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.2:35 p.m. Saturday — An SUV driven by Patrick W. Feitt, 28, of Pittsburgh struck a guardrail after skidding on snow-covered I-79 in Worth Township.12:19 p.m. Saturday — A pickup truck driven by Edward L. Kiser, 17, of West Sunbury struck a utility pole on snow and ice-covered Sunset Drive at Covington Drive in Center Township. Police said Kiser was cited for driving too fast for conditions.12:18 p.m. Saturday — An Allegheny County woman was hurt when the SUV she was driving slid on ice and hit an embankment on Route 8 in Mercer Township, just south of the Venango County line. The vehicle ended up on its side in a yard.The driver, Rebecca L. Pape, 21, of Oakdale, suffered unknown injuries. Police said she was cited for driving too fast for conditions11:26 a.m. Saturday — An SUV driven by Dustin R. Sargo, 26, of Turtle Creek, Allegheny County, crashed and rolled onto its roof on I-79 just north of Walker Road in Muddy Creek Township. Sargo crashed after the vehicle slid on ice and off the highway, hitting an embankment.2:09 a.m. Saturday — Jacob N. Reeb, 23, of Zelienople lost control of his pickup and hit a guardrail on I-79 just south of West Park Road in Muddy Creek Township. Police said Reeb was cited for a lane violation. The Portersville Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.1:32 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Agnes E. Conway, 81, of Boyers and an SUV driven by Shirley A. Kelly, 71, of Harrisville collided on Red Brush Road just east of Grubb Road in Cherry Township.The crash happened when Conway's car slid on ice while rounding a bend and hit the other vehicle. Police said she was cited for driving too fast for conditions.11:44 a.m. Friday — Randy J. Morrow Jr., 20, of Butler lost control of his SUV and struck a concrete barrier on Route 422, just east of the Jefferson Street exit in Summit Township. Police said he was cited for driving too fast for conditions.10:54 a.m. Friday — Donna Palko, 69, of Grove City was hurt when the car she was driving crashed after sliding off snow- and ice-covered Foxburg Road, just west of McKees Road in Allegheny Township. The car ended up against a tree.Palko, who was not wearing a seat belt was taken to Grove City Medical Center with unknown injuries. Police said she was cited for driving too fast for conditions. Emlenton Ambulance assisted at the scene.10:29 a.m. Friday — A Lawrence County man lost control of his car and hit a road sign on Route 422 just west of Route 488 in Franklin Township. Robert R. Domanski, 74, of New Wilmington crashed after he was unable to stop in time for slowing traffic. His car ended in the parking lot of the First National Bank.Police said Domanski was cited for driving too fast for conditions.9:18 a.m. Friday — An SUV slid into a ditch on snow-covered Route 8 in Center Township. Police did not identify the driver, who was not charged in the wreck.8:54 a.m. Friday — An Armstrong County man crashed his SUV into a concrete barrier on snow-covered Route 422 just east of the Jefferson Street exit. Jacob M. Nulph, 30, of Apollo spun out after losing control of the vehicle. Police said he was cited for driving too fast for conditions.3:17 p.m. Thursday — Two teenagers were hurt when their car crashed and overturned on Slater Road, just north of Dunkle Road in Allegheny Township. The driver, Samantha J. Lipscomb, 19, of Hilliards, and her passenger, William J. Burns, 17, of Butler, were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.Both teens were wearing seat belts. Police said Lipscomb was cited for driving too fast for conditions.8:55 a.m. Thursday — Zachary P. Schweitzer, 29, of Pittsburgh lost control of his SUV and slid into a guardrail on snow-covered I-79 in Jackson Township.8:40 a.m. Thursday — A car ran over a mailbox after skidding off snow- and slush-covered Route 356, just east of Marwood Road in Jefferson Township. Police did not identify the driver, who was not cited in the wreck.7:45 a.m. Thursday — Joseph W. Douglas, 23, of East Butler lost control of his car and crashed on snow-covered Route 422 about one-half mile east of the Jefferson Street exit in Summit Township. Police said Douglas was cited for driving too fast for conditions.7:30 a.m. Wednesday — An unidentified large truck struck several mailboxes at the corner of Route 68 and Buss Lane in Connoquenessing Township. The unknown driver, who was backing up at the time, did not stop after the crash.Jan. 14 — A 22-year-old Saxonburg man said someone forged a check that was stolen from his checkbook between Jan. 3 and 14. The check was cashed for $20.Dec. 27 — An unspecified item valued at $15 was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked at the Stoneworth Apartments on Route 422 in Worth Township.

2:30 a.m. Sunday — A pickup truck driven by Philip L. Fine, 59, of Foxburg crashed into a tree after hitting a guardrail on Route 58 near Bluff Street in Foxburg.8:20 a.m. Saturday — Icy conditions were blamed for Elijah N. Busch, 20, of Parker losing control of his car and slamming into a guardrail on Interstate 80 in Richland Township.11:09 a.m. Friday — Larrie L. Craig, 55, of Emlenton lost control of his pickup truck and struck several trees along Route 208 in ElkTownship. Police said Craig was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

10:42 a.m. Friday — A pickup truck driven by Nicola Principe, 54, of Oakmont, Allegheny County, fishtailed into a concrete barrier after skidding on ice on the Buffalo Bridge on Route 28 in South Buffalo Township. Police said Principe, who was wearing a seat belt and suffered a minor injury, was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

1 p.m. Sunday — Jonibek Khamidov, 26, of Brooklyn, N.Y., lost control of his car hauling a trailer when he traveled over a bump in the road on Interstate 80 in Pine Township, Mercer County. The car hit a guardrail. Police said Khamidov was cited for a lane violation.10:20 a.m. Friday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Kristin E. Wentworth, 27, of Polk, Venango County, struck a ditch, hit a tree stump and rolled onto its side on Bradley Road just north of Brown Road in Worth Township Mercer County.Police cited Wentworth for a lane violation, driving an unregistered vehicle and driving without insurance.9:22 p.m. Jan. 20 — A car crashed into a tree along Fleming Road just south of Pinchalong Road in Pine Township, Mercer County. Police did not identify the driver, who was cited for careless driving.
