The state Department of Transportation will host a public meeting to display plans and answer questions about the Kittanning Street bridge replacement project and the detour on Feb. 4.

The session will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Butler City Building, 140 W. North St.

The contractor’s proposed plan revision will be presented for the bridge and the corresponding detour. This would enable the project to be completed in less time, eliminate the need for phased construction, and increase safety by not having traffic back up at the railroad grade crossing. A construction time frame is not set.

PennDOT advises anyone with knowledge of historic resources in the project area or comments on potential impacts to historic resources to attend.

The bridge is located on Route 2004 in Butler and Butler Township.
