11:15 p.m. Saturday — Toby T. King, 18, of Butler faces misdemeanor drug charges after police caught him with suspected marijuana on Mercer Street. Officers found King after they were called there for a report of an unknown male trying to break into a vehicle.Officers conducted a pat down and found the teen with a baggie of suspected marijuana and a foil pipe in his pants pockets, a police affidavit said.King is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.7:31 p.m. Saturday — Daniel R. Curtis Sr., 41, was arrested on an assault charge after a domestic dispute at his home in the 500 block of Virginia Avenue left his wife's son with two broken bones.The altercation started when Curtis and 41-year-old Allessia Curtis began to argue. During the argument, he allegedly pushed and shoved his wife.When the woman's son, 18-year-old Kevin Simanton, stepped in to protect her, a police report said, Curtis punched him in the face. The teenager, who lives with his mother and the defendant, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital and treated for a fractured nasal bone and a broken facial bone.Curtis was gone when officers got to the home. But a short time later, he turned himself in at the police station. He was taken to Butler County Jail and later arraigned on a charge of simple assault.
8:25 a.m. Sunday — An unknown driver in a Lincoln MKS struck another car traveling on Route 68 in Connoquenessing Township near the Connoquenessing borough line, and did not stop after the crash. Tevin J. Bair, 17, of Butler was the other driver.2:32 a.m. Sunday — Sharon L. Parson, 35, of Prospect was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 8 in Center Township.1:46 a.m. Saturday — Conrad W. Claycomb Jr., 43, of Butler allegedly violated a woman's protection from abuse order at her home on Walnut Lane in Clay Township. Police said Claycomb is charged for violating the court order.Saturday — An unknown vandal pulled out a mailbox on the west side of North Main Street in Slippery Rock. The vandalism happened between 6 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday.Montgomery Kids Daycare owns the mailbox. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.9:01 p.m. Friday — A minivan driven by Mary E. Wynn, 49, of Butler struck a utility pole and wooden fence after sliding off Marwood Road, just west of Helmbold Avenue in Winfield Township. Police said Wynn was cited for a lane violation.7:55 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Douglas Verosko, 22, of New Castle struck a concrete barrier on Route 422 at the Route 528 overpass in Franklin Township. Police said Verosko was cited for a lane violation.1:55 a.m. Friday — John P. Lucas II, 21, of Zelienople was arrested for suspicion of DUI after his vehicle struck an embankment on Benbrook Road in Center Township. Lucas suffered a minor injury in the wreck.Thursday — An unknown identity thief used a Washington Township woman's credit card information to purchase unspecified merchandise at a Walmart store in Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County. Police said the suspect was seen driving away from the store in an unidentified blue compact sedan.
1:55 a.m. Saturday — A Clarion County man was seriously injured when he lost control of his snowmobile and crashed into a fallen tree on Steele Road just north of McNaughton Road in Madison Township.Wayne D. Bearfield, 42, of Callensburg, who was wearing a motorcycle helmet, was taken to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh with a “major injury,” according to a police report.8:37 p.m. Tuesday — An Emlenton infant was hurt in a two-vehicle wreck in Beaver Township, Clarion County.The crash happened when Crystal L. Elder, 21, of Emlenton lost control of her car and spun out several times on ice-covered Route 338. Pamela S. Weiss, 40, of Knox was unable to stop her sport utility vehicle and struck the rear of the car.A 1-year-old boy riding in the car was taken to Clarion Hospital with an unknown injury. The boy was in a child safety seat.4:43 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Tammy L. Shetler, 40, of Shippenville struck a tree along Route 68 just north of Yates Road in Toby Township. The car spun around after hitting the tree and struck an embankment.Shetler, who was wearing a seat belt, was flown by medical helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh with unknown injuries. Police cited her for a lane violation.
