8:07 a.m. Wednesday — Julie Ann Steffy, 38, of Butler was arrested on a warrant on West North Street near Broad Street and placed in the Butler County Prison.

Thursday — Amanda E. Ristity, 32, of Butler was charged with shoplifting nearly $400 in merchandise in November from the Walmart at Butler Commons. Police said Ristity got away from the store about 3:40 p.m. Nov. 17 after trying to make off with the items in a shopping cart. She is charged with retail theft.Thursday — Police charged Brandon Lee Jetter, 32, of New Castle in connection with the theft of a purse Nov. 17 at the Playmakers Bar in the Days Inn hotel on Route 8 south. Jetter is charged with theft and receiving stolen property.5:30 p.m. Wednesday — Pickup trucks driven by Ann Sumney, 36, and Allen Erdis, 40, both of Butler, collided on New Castle Road at Moraine Pointe Plaza. Police cited Sumney for disobeying traffic-control devices.

Thursday — An unspecified amount of money was taken from the cash register in a burglary at Deb and Mike's Good Wings on West Main Street. The break-in happened between 9 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday. Police did not say if they have any suspects.Thursday — Two global positioning system devices were stolen from a vehicle in the 400 block of Opre Avenue. The property, valued at $200, was taken between 7 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday.1:30 p.m. Wednesday — Christopher M. Cameron, 33, of Slippery Rock Township, Butler County, was arrested on three bench warrants. The warrants, all for theft-related cases, were issued out of Mercer County after Cameron failed to appear at court hearings.He was placed in the Mercer County Jail following his arrest.Wednesday — Someone between 7 and 10 p.m. broke into several vehicles in the areas of North Broad Street, Woodland Avenue and Princeton Street.Items stolen from the vehicles included a tan Carhartt coat, a Dewalt cordless drill, an Apple iPhone charger and assorted change. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.Wednesday — An unidentified black truck struck the rear fender of a Slippery Rock woman's car at East Main and Liberty streets. The unknown truck driver did not stop after the crash.

1:30 p.m. Thursday — A thief stole a Stihl chain saw from somewhere on Midberry Road in Marion Township.9:20 p.m. Wednesday — A 17-year-old Saxonburg girl was hurt when the car she was riding in struck an embankment at Frazier and Bullcreek roads in Jefferson Township. The girl, who police did not identify, was taken to UPMC Passavant Cranberry with minor injuries. She was not wearing a seat belt.Police said the driver, a 16-year-old Saxonburg boy who they did not identify, ran a stop sign before crashing. The boy faces a ticket for the stop sign violation.Wednesday — A washer and dryer were taken in a burglary at a home in the 1200 block of Kittanning Pike in Fairview Township. The break-in happened between Jan. 6 and Wednesday.Wednesday — Police reported that a pair of 11-year-girls have been charged with stealing electronic devices from the bags of two students Dec. 19 during a school function at Knoch Middle School in Jefferson Township.The suspects, from Freeport and Cabot, are both charged in juvenile court with theft, receiving stolen property and disorderly conduct. Police did not identify the girls.7:01 a.m. Monday — A car driven by Stephen R. Seger, 24, of Linesville, Crawford County, crashed into a utility pole along Route 8 just east of Roberts Lane in Mercer Township. Police cited Seger for careless driving and a lane violation.Monday — A 32-year-old West Sunbury man is suspected of stealing a deer/cargo carrier from a home in the 400 block of Bonniebrook Road in Summit Township. Police did not identify the suspect. The theft happened between 8:40 and 10:30 a.m.2:13 a.m. Sunday — Daniel Huffman, 29, of Portersville was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Roosevelt Boulevard in Butler.5:29 p.m. Jan. 10 — Ryan S. Wade, 27, was arrested after he allegedly attacked his mother, Stacy Wade, and threatened her with a paring knife during a domestic dispute at their home in the 800 block of Bonniebrook Road in Summit Township.Wade is accused of grabbing his mother and pushing her against a wall before picking up the knife and swinging it at her, according to court documents.He is charged with simple assault terroristic threats, reckless endangerment and harassment and is in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail.1:30 p.m. Jan. 8 — A Butler woman and child were hurt when their car crashed head-on into a tree on Euclid Road just west of Hunter Ridge Road in Clay Township. Ashley Frazzini, 25, lost control of the car traveling around a curve, traveled off the road and became airborne for about 20 feet.The vehicle landed in a field and traveled another 60 feet before hitting the tree.Frazzini, who was wearing a seat belt, and a 6-year-old girl both suffered minor injuries. The girl and another passenger, a 4-year-old boy who was not injured, were both in child safety seats.Police cited Frazzini for driving too fast for conditions.3:30 a.m. Jan. 8 — Teresa A. Coleman, 22, of Ford City, Armstrong County, lost control of her car on an ice patch and crashed into a ditch on Saxonburg Boulevard just east of Brewer Road in Clinton Township.12:15 a.m. Jan. 7 — A car driven by Shelton L. Scott, 56, of Sharon, Mercer County, wrecked on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township. Scott lost control of the car and spun into a guardrail on the east side of the road.The vehicle traveled back onto the highway, crossed both lanes and hit the guardrail on the west side of the road. Again, the car traveled back on the road before sliding into the center median.Scott faces a ticket for a lane violation.

3:57 p.m. Thursday — A pickup truck driven by Kirk D. Schermer, 59, and a sport utility vehicle driven by Blaine C. Blattenberger, 44, both of Cowansville, collided on Wattersonville Road just north of Beagle Club Road in Washington Township, Armstrong County. Police cited Schermer for driving on the wrong side of the road.3:57 p.m. Wednesday — Richard W. Essaf, 63, was seriously injured when he lost control of his car and crashed on Route 128 just north of Horseshoe Drive in South Buffalo Township.Police said Essaf was speeding when his northbound 2004 Cadillac CTS slid off the road, striking and shearing off a large tree before rolling onto its roof.Essaf, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered a “major injury,” according to a police report. He was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. His condition was not known this morning.

Thursday — Police said felony assault charges are pending against two Grove City boys suspected of attacking a 13-year-old Grove City boy over three days this month in Pine Township. Investigators did not identify the suspects, ages 13 and 15, or the alleged victim.The suspects are accused of choking, punching, slapping and “verbally harassing” the other boy between Jan. 3 and 5 at a home on Barkeyville Road.

11 p.m. Wednesday — Tyler G. Rader, 19, of Butler lost control of his pickup truck on an ice patch and slid into a guardrail on Route 488 just east of Wehman Lane in Perry Township.4:45 a.m. Monday — A pickup driven by Neil D, Simmons, 47, of Sharon struck an embankment and rolled onto its side on Route 422 just east of Old Butler Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. Simmons was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
