Zelma Stamm

Zelma E. Stamm, 95, of Butler passed away at 12:50 a.m. Wednesday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

She was born on Dec. 20, 1917, in Butler to the late Blaney Somerville and Luella (Bowser) Somerville.

Mrs. Stamm was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Berean Sunday School Class and a member of the Women's Missionary Fellowship. Mr. and Mrs. Stamm entertained church missionaries in their home, and had a visitation ministry to church shut ins.

Mrs. Stamm is survived her son, Donald Stamm and his wife, Carol, of Butler; her three daughters, Leona Pierrel and her husband, Joe, Ruth Morris and her husband, David, and Patricia Thompson and her husband, Ray, all of Butler; her eight grandchildren, her seven great-grandchildren, her great-great-granddaughter and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl A. Stamm, who she married on April 18, 1936, and who passed away on Sept. 8, 1999; her granddaughter, Jodi Hinchberger; her brother and four sisters.

STAMM — The friends of Zelma E. Stamm, who passed away Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today. The funeral services will immediately follow at 8 p.m. with Pastor David Maitland of the First Baptist Church officiating.A private burial will take place in the Greenlawn Burial Estates.Memorials are suggested to the VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA 16001.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
