Tornado matmen get 2nd

Scott Dietrick (120 pounds), Cody Houston (138) and Will Bortmas (220) all went 5-0 in their matches Saturday as the Butler wrestling team finished second at the South Side Duals.

Butler fell to South Fayette in the championship match, 40-26.

Golden Tornado wins were over Beaver (82-0), Perry Academy (84-0), Hopewell (46-21) and Seneca Valley (32-28).

Houston had four pins and a major decision on the way to his perfect day.

J.D. Bojanac (heavyweight), Jeremiah Bortmas (152), Ryan Hannon (170) and Alex White all went 4-1 for Butler, which will wrestle Seneca Valley at home Wednesday night.

Seneca Valley finished fourth with wins over Ambridge (75-6) and Sharon (53-10).

Alex Lynch (106) and Ben Lynch (113) were both 5-0 on the day for the Raiders.

Trevor Barnhard scored 15 points and added five assists as the First Baptist boys basketball team toppled CAC 53-36.Paul Drake added 14 points and D.J. Bowser 10 points, 11 rebounds and seven steals for First Baptist.
