David A. Ritchey

David A. Ritchey, 69, of Butler passed away Tuesday in Butler Memorial Hospital with his wife by his side as he went home to be with his Lord and Savior.

Born on July 31, 1944, in Butler, he was the son of the late Albert and Janet Thompson Ritchey.

David loved the Lord, he was saved, and now he is in Heaven. He was an original cofounding member of the Slippery Rock Baptist Church, where he also was an usher.

In his earlier years, he worked at Pullman Standard, and then went to work in the maintenance department at the Butler School District. He retired after 35 years of service, where he was the store room manager for the Butler schools.

David was an avid hunter, he loved yard work and riding his golf cart around the farm.

He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Gatson Ritchey; his sister-in-law, Susan (Michael) Neff of Chicora; and eight nieces and nephews.

RITCHEY — The visitation for David A. Ritchey, who passed away Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main St., Prospect.The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Slippery Rock Baptist Church with his pastor, Jerry Wayne Carter, officiating.
