3:59 p.m. Saturday — Dustin Hilgar, 22, of Butler and Jarrod Knox, 22, of Lyndora were charged with trespassing after police responded to a call about two hunters on private property on Schaffner Road.11:28 p.m. Friday — Jena Kirmeyer, 18, of Evans City was charged with retail theft after allegedly taking more than $173 worth of merchandise from the Walmart in the Butler Commons shopping center.9:52 a.m. Friday — A vehicle driven by Aaron Crider, 20, of Prospect hit the rear of a vehicle driven by John Bigley, 71, of Leechburg while it slowed for traffic on Route 8.5:11 p.m. Thursday — A vehicle driven by Maggie Myers, 18, of Butler struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Christopher Chute, 27, of Butler that was stopped on New Castle Road. The impact sent Chute's vehicle into the rear of a vehicle driven by Kenneth Krammer, 38, of Butler. Myers was cited for not driving at a safe speed.
2:01 a.m. Saturday — Jacob Keith Amos, 20, of Sandy Lake was charged with fleeing and eluding a police officer, recklessly endangering another person and numerous other traffic violations after allegedly failing to stop for police, leading them on a high-speed pursuit on various roads including Route 845 in Sandy Lake Township.State Police, Mercer9 p.m. Friday — Janet L. Atwill, 51, of Hadley was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats and disorderly conduct after she allegedly assaulted two state troopers following an arrest for a suspected DUI along Triple Link Road in Sandy Township, Mercer County.Atwill was placed in Mercer County Jail on $75,000 bail.
Monday — Elaine R. Sokevitz, 69, of Portersville reported someone stole a ring from her Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County, home during the week of Thanksgiving.Dec. 22 — Robert Allison, 47, reported someone stole several guns from his Reese Road home in Scott Township, Lawrence County.2 p.m. Dec. 14 — A car driven by Austin A. Bereziak, 19, of Ellwood City struck another vehicle driven by Robert L. Sedgwick, 65, of Wampum along Portersville Road in Perry Township, Lawrence County.Sedgwick had slowed to avoid another collision and Bereziak was unable to stop in time. Bereziak was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
