Butler senior Will Bortmas pinned North Star’s Kevin Horner in the second period of the 220-pound title bout, lifting the Golden Tornado to a first-place tie with Greenville (166 points) at the 33-team Southmoreland Tournament over the weekend.

Bortmas finished the event with a perfect 4-0 record.

Butler, which was the tourney’s defending champion, also received a pair of second-place finishes from Ryan Hannon (170 pounds) and Cody Houston (138). Both wrestlers went 3-1 overall.

Fourth place: Jeremiah Bortmas (152 pounds, 4-2)

Fifth place: Scott Dietrich (120, 5-2)

Sixth place: Conner Foust (126, 4-3)

Seventh place: Alex White (195, 3-2)
