Anderson Cooper

LOS ANGELES — Anderson Cooper is apparently not done being embarrassed on live TV, because the CNN anchor is teaming up with comedian Kathy Griffin once again to host CNN's New Year's Eve coverage from Times Square.

This is the seventh straight year for Cooper and Griffin, who've been through a lot over the years, including semi-nudity (Griffin's), saucy language and enough sex talk to make Cooper giggle like a kid.

In a statement, Cooper said, “Wait ... what? CNN hired her again? For real?”

The New Year's Eve coverage will run from 9 to 12:30 p.m. But it won't all be Cooper and Griffin all the time. CNN correspondents will be covering the new year, including Isha Sesay in the Times Square crowds, Brooke Baldwin in New Orleans, Susan Hendricks in Nashville, Tenn., and Gary Tuchman in Vincennes, Ind., home of the annual New Year's Eve Watermelon Drop.

HOLLYWOOD — It's been a long road for Ted, Barney, Lily, Robin and Marshall. A remarkable nine seasons of “How I Met Your Mother.” (About six more than anyone projected). Well, we can now see the finish line. CBS recently announced the sitcom will end with a special one-hour finale on March 31.That means a total revamp of the network's Monday night lineup. The finale of “HIMYM” will air just before the debut of “Friends with Better Lives,” a new ensemble comedy starring Kevin Connolly (“Entourage”), James Van Der Beek (“Dawson's Creek”) and Brooklyn Decker.
