Recertify for pesticide application
This winter the Penn State Extension Green Industry Team will offer a series of sessions called the Green Industry Winter Updates.
These two-hour long sessions will be taught by Penn State educators and delivered live, over the Internet, to the Butler County location.
Each of the sessions will feature two speakers from the Penn State Extension Green Industry Team and will offer credits for pesticide license update as specified. The program dates and presentation topics include:
n Jan. 16 from 1 to 3 p.m., Herbicide “Modes of Action and Injury Symptoms” with speaker Thomas Ford (two core recertification credits) and “Solving Landscape Weed” with speaker Scott Guiser (two recertification credits in Category 06, 07, 10, 18, 23, private).
n Jan. 23 from 1 to 3 p.m., “Formulations and Mixing Pesticides” with speaker Emelie Swackhamer (two core recertification credits) and “Pollinators and other Stinging Insects in the Landscape” with speaker Thomas Butzler (two recertification credits in Category 05, 06, 07, 18, 23 and private).
n Feb. 19 from 1 to 3 p.m., “The Impact of Water Quality on Pesticide Efficacy and Adjuvants” with speaker Lee Stivers (two core recertification credits) and “The Grass Isn’t Always Greener” with speaker Nancy Bosold (two recertification credits in category 07, 18, 23 and private).
n March 3 from 1 to 3 p.m., “Pesticides and Pollinators” with speaker Bill Riden (two core recertification credits) and “Emerging Diseases including Boxwood Blight” with speaker Gary Moorman (two recertification credits in category 05, 06, 18, 23 and private).
The cost for each participant is $10 per session. Space is limited and registration is required no later than one day before the program you wish to attend.
