8:51 a.m. Monday — Patricia L. Vasbinder, 66, of Butler Township lost control of her sport utility vehicle and struck two vehicles in the Butler Memorial Hospital parking lot on East Brady Street. She placed her vehicle into reverse after the crash and backed into a brick wall.Vasbinder told officers that she believed her SUV's gas pedal got stuck.Monday — The driver's side window of a car parked in the 500 block of West Cunningham Street was shot out with a BB. The vandalism happened over the weekend.10:43 p.m. Sunday — William E. Shaner, 26, of Butler Township was hurt when he lost control of his car on ice-covered South Main Street at Euclid Avenue and collided head-on with an SUV driven by Diane G. Shapiro, 59, of Butler Township.Shaner, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital and treated for a broken wrist and a leg injury. A police report noted that the road was “extremely icy,” and no charges were filed in the accident.2:30 p.m. Nov. 29 — A car driven by Alicia L. Anthony 24, of Kittanning ran a red light and collided with a pickup truck on South Main Street at the south end of the General Butler Bridge.The pickup driver, Eugene L. Heasley, 60, of Jefferson Township, and Twila Sullivan, 26, of Suffolk, Va., a passenger in the car, were both injured and taken to Butler Memorial Hospital. Sullivan suffered facial injuries. Heasley's injuries were not known.A small child in back of the car also was taken to BMH for precautionary measures.The girl was in a child safety seat. Heasley was wearing a seat belt. Police did not immediately know if Sullivan had a seat belt on.Anthony was cited for a red light violation.

12:39 p.m. Sunday — Vehicles driven by Richard Myers, 23, of Mars and Donald Hines, 56, of Butler collided on Route 356 in front of Morgan's Car Wash. Police cited Myers for careless driving and disregarding traffic lanes.2:40 p.m. Saturday — Two women were hurt when a car driven by Kelly D. Silak, 25, of Butler rear-ended another vehicle on the Route 8 on-ramp at Route 422 east. Crystal Myers, 46, of Butler, the other driver, was at a stop sign.Silak and Myers were both taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unspecified injuries. The Butler Fire Department and the Mercer Road Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.Police cited Silak for careless driving.7:53 p.m. Thursday — A man and woman face drug-related charges after police found them passed out in a car at the Butler Commons shopping plaza.The suspects — Douglas C. Fudoli, 44, and Heather D. Martino, 23, both of Butler, — are each charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness. Fudoli also is charged with possession of a controlled substance.Officers were called to the Target store parking lot for a report of two people “acting in a strange manner,” according to a police report.Two ambulances were called to treat the suspects. Fudoli was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital. Martino refused treatment.

12:59 a.m. Dec. 1 — Kenneth J. Kremer, 40, of Zelienople was arrested for drunken driving after he passed out at the wheel of his pickup truck on Three Degree Road.Another motorist told police that he drove upon Kremer's pickup that was stopped in the middle of the road. The other driver said he tapped on the pickup's window but was unable to waken the defendant.Police got there and opened the truck's door, but if took several attempts before they could rouse Kremer.He was taken to UPMC Passavant Cranberry for a blood test after failing several field sobriety tests. Toxicology results later showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.238 percent, or nearly triple the state's 0.08 percent legal limit.Kremer is charged with driving under the influence.

Nov. 26 — Kristopher C. Eldridge, 22, of Freedom, Beaver County, was charged with drunken driving in connection with a traffic stop about 11:40 p.m. Oct. 27 on West Main Street.Toxicology results from a blood test after the arrest, showed Eldridge's blood-alcohol level was 0.201 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.Eldridge is charged with DUI.

Monday — Police charged Adam A. McCoy, 29, of Jonesboro, Tenn., with running a methamphetamine lab at 104 West Poplar St. The suspect was operating the purported meth lab in October at a home where three youths also live.McCoy is charged with operating a methamphetamine lab, improperly or disposing chemical waste, possession with intent to possess a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and three counts of reckless endangerment.He also is charged with unlawful possession of ephedrine, one of the ingredients to cook methamphetamine.McCoy has been in Mercer County Jail on $50,000 bail since Nov. 16, following his arrest on similar charges for allegedly running a meth lab in Coolspring Township.10:15 p.m. Saturday — Anthony Buffalini, 22, of Pittsburgh was arrested for possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at Grove City College's Colonial Hall.7:03 p.m. Friday — A vehicle driven by Thomas Bloom, 21, of Kintersville, Bucks County, slid through a stop sign on snow-covered Madison Avenue and struck the side of another vehicle at East Main Street. Steven Cyphert, 55, of Mercer was the other driver.7:44 a.m. Dec. 3 — The PNC Bank branch on West Main Street was cited for an unlawful alarm activation. The citation was issued after the bank's fifth false alarm in 12 months.8:12 a.m. Nov. 23 — A laptop computer and cell phone were taken from a home in the 200 block of Jackson Street. The theft happened between 7 and 8 a.m.

Dec. 3 — Police filed drugged driving charges against Reece H. Pascoe, 19, of New Brighton, Beaver County, stemming from a traffic stop for tailgating Nov. 15 on West Beaver Street.Officers reported smelling a “very strong odor” of marijuana coming from Pascoe's car about 11:45 p.m. He admitted smoking “a half of a blunt” while driving from New Castle, according to court documents.He exhibited signs of being impaired by a controlled substance. Later, police took him to UPMC Passavant Cranberry for a blood test, which confirmed the presence of marijuana in his system.Pascoe is charged with driving under the influence and following too closely to another vehicle.
