11:55 a.m. Sunday — A teenage girl was hurt in a three-car, chain-reaction accident on North Main Street near West Penn Street. The crash happened when a car driven by Ann M. Sumney, 36, of Butler struck the rear of a car driven by Lori K. Noah, 50, of Butler.The collision forced Noah's vehicle into the back of a car driven by Michelle L. Levin, 45, of Butler Township. Noah and Levin were stopped in traffic at a red light.A passenger in Noah's car, 16-year-old Kaylee Noah of Butler, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with a minor injury. The girl was wearing a seat belt.Friday — A thief stole a package from the porch of a home in the 100 block of Third Avenue. The package contained a pair of blue jeans valued at $25.9:24 p.m. Tuesday — Two teenagers were injured when their car crashed and rolled in Memorial Park. Matthew G. Hibbard, 18, of Center Township was going too fast when he lost control of his sport utility vehicle and rolled over while pulling into a parking space, according to a police report.Hibbard and a passenger, Timothy J. McCullough, 19, of Chicora, both suffered minor injuries. Both were wearing seat belts.Hibbard was cited for careless driving.
Sunday — Two separate thefts happened between 12:01 and 1:30 a.m. inside and outside TJ's Hideaway bar on Spithaler School Road in Forward Township.A thief stole a purse from a woman in the bar. In about the same time period, someone smashed the window of a minivan outside and stole a Garmin global positioning system device, an in-vehicle DVD player and an Under Armour jacket.Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.Sunday — Three vehicles parked in driveways at homes in Center Township were vandalized sometime in the morning. Police did not immediately indicate if they suspect one or more people are responsible.Two of the vandalized vehicles occurred in the Timberly Heights housing plan. In those cases, the back window of a sport utility vehicle on Mohawk Drive was smashed out between 5 and 9:30 a.m. and the side window of a pickup truck on Cherokee Drive was shot out between 1 and 9 a.m.In the other case of vandalism, the back window of an SUV in Sunburst Court was smashed out between 1 and 9 a.m.Sunday — A vandal armed with a paintball gun fired six shots at a home on Rieger Road in Franklin Township. The incident happened between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.Saturday — Two tree stands were stolen from woods in the area of Ratigan and Rabbit roads in Donegal Township. The stands, taken between Dec. 2 and Saturday, are Lonewolf and Alpha models.The owners said that along with the stands, tree sticks and ropes were taken. The stolen property is valued at a combined $750.8:10 p.m. Friday — Two young women were hurt when their car struck the side of a tractor-trailer on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township. The crash happened when Kimberly E. Eisel, 19, of South Park, Allegheny County, tried to pass the rig.Eisel and a passenger, 20-year-old Jordyn A. Naggy of Derry, Westmoreland County, were taken to UPMC Passavant Cranberry with minor injuries. Both women were wearing seat belts. Eisel was cited for driving too fast for conditions.Eva D. Knelson, 28, of Ontario, Canada, was driving the tractor-trailer.
7:11 p.m. Sunday — Marianna K. Williams, 19, of Chicora lost control of her car on an ice patch and crashed into an embankment on Old East Butler Road just east of Madison Avenue in East Butler.
