MUDDY CREEK TWP — The 43-year-old New Castle man found dead Thursday at Moraine State Park has been identified.

The body of Alvah R. Strickenburg III was found along the shore of Lake Arthur around noon Thursday by a kayaker, according to Jake Weiland, the assistant park manager.

Weiland said Strickenburg took his own life, but he would not specify the manner of death.

Deputy Coroner Denny Trzeciak, who pronounced Strickenburg dead at the scene, said Friday that the official manner of death is pending toxicology reports from the autopsy.
