Report given on keyless entry
CHERRY TWP — During the Moniteau School Board meeting Wednesday night, Superintendent George Svolos reported on gradual implementation of keyless entry technology in the district.
The key cards used are for staff entry to buildings and will supplement other security measures in the schools.
“Security is always being reviewed and upgraded,” Svolos said.
He said each time a card is used, the technology documents the card user’s identity and the time of entry.
The district is in the process of switching all employees over to this system.
The meeting was the board’s annual reorganization session.
Recently elected members Linda Dillaman, Joann Duke, Trixie Heck and Michael Panza were sworn in.
Duke, Heck and Panza were re-elected while Dillaman was appointed in September to complete the term of George Pry, who resigned in August.
Melissa DeMatteis was re-elected as board president and Kathy McBride was re-elected as vice-president.
The school board nominated Panza to serve on the Midwest Intermediate Unit IV board for January to April 2014.
The IU members are elected from among the 27 member school districts. The current board does not include anyone from Moniteau.
The next Moniteau board meeting will be Jan. 13.
