BUTLER TWP — Hobnob Theatre Company will present “A Christmas Carol” at 8 p.m. Dec. 20 and 21 and 2 p.m. Dec. 22 at the Succop Theater at Butler County Community College.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children age 12 and younger, available at www.hobnobtheatre.com/tickets or at May's Music Shoppe, 247 E. Jefferson St.

Tickets also will be sold at the door one hour before curtain.

GROVE CITY — A holiday handbell concert is planned for 7 p.m. Monday at Tower Presbyterian Church, 248 S. Broad St. The concert will feature handbell soloist Sue Garton, the Celebration Ringers, the Glenn Memorial Ringers, and the Rainbow Ringers. Admission is free.

SLIPPERY ROCK TWP, Lawrence County — McConnells Mill State Park will host “Hemlock Hikes” from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday as well as Dec. 14.Park in the Kildoo picnic area and meet at the gristmill. Dress for the weather, and take enough food and water. Those who don't hike are still welcome for the 20 minute information session.Call 724-368-3612 between 8 and 10 a.m. the morning of the hikes to make sure weather hasn't canceled the event.

OIL CITY — Paul Adomites of Emlenton, who wrote “Pennsylvania Crude: Boomtowns and Oil Barons,” will be available along with several other area authors to autograph books from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Latonia Theatre Building, One E. First St.Visit www.OIL150.com or www.oilregion.org.

PITTSBURGH — Visitors who take a preserved snowball to the Carnegie Science Center on June 21, the summer solstice, can name their own general admission price.In addition, every person who brings a snowball to the center that day will be able to launch it in the Ohio River, weather permitting.
