Ex-lawmaker tries to delay federal trial
WILKES-BARRE — A former state senator from northeastern Pennsylvania is again trying to delay his federal corruption trial, citing health concerns.
Lawyers for 84-year-old Raphael Musto filed a motion Friday saying a liver disease and other conditions prevent him from assisting in his defense.
Authorities allege Musto received about $40,000 in cash and free building renovations in exchange for supporting state funding for development projects.
