Monday — Nickolas A. Gaillot, 35, no known address, was arrested on a charge that he stole a 40-inch flat-screen television and a laptop computer Oct. 29 from an apartment in the 400 block of East Locust Street.The alleged victims, Charles and Rhonda Weltner, had allowed Gaillot to stay at their apartment for a few nights when he allegedly took the property. A neighbor told police that he saw the defendant leave the apartment while carrying a TV.Gaillot, who is charged with a misdemeanor count of theft, is free on his own recognizance.Friday — Eric J. Angerett, 34, of Butler was arrested on charges he used his roommate's bank debit card to make $515 in unauthorized withdrawals from automated teller machines at a store and bank in the city.Angerett allegedly took the card from Norma Carney's purse and used it six times on Oct. 17 and 18.The suspect told investigators that Carney “owed him money and he used her debit card to get the money back that she owed him,” a police affidavit said.Angerett was arraigned on a felony charge of access device fraud, and placed in Butler County Prison on $2,000 bail.Friday — Jay E. Vinroe Jr., 25, of Clay Township was charged with driving under the influence after police spotted him about 4:30 p.m. Sept. 11 spinning tires and sliding sideways on the General Butler Bridge.Police said they chased after Vinroe when he took off running. The chase ended when he ran into a building on Main Street.Results of toxicology tests later showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.137 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.Vinroe is charged with DUI, driving with a suspended license, reckless driving and disorderly conduct.Friday — Police charged Thomas E. Wadding, 71, of Center Township with driving under the influence after he ran into a bicyclist about 6:40 p.m. Oct. 30 at West Jefferson and Broad streets.According to court documents, the accident happened when Wadding's car hit the bike that 35-year-old Clotilde Guzman Jr. of Butler was riding. Police said the car had minor damage but the bike was heavily damaged.Officers reported that Wadding smelled of whiskey when they got there, documents said. He failed field sobriety tests and was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test.Toxicology results showed the defendant's blood-alcohol level was 0.134 percent. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated.Friday — Michael P.J. Chute, 35, of Butler was arrested after police were called for a disturbance at Heather Grosskopf's home in the 100 block of West Brady Street. Police reported that Chute was allegedly intoxicated when he came there.Grosskopf notified officers that she wanted Chute out of her home.Police said they got there and searched Chute, who was found with a set of keys belonging to Grosskopf. He was later arraigned on charges of theft and public drunkenness, and placed in Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.11:32 p.m. Thursday — Kenneth C. Parker, 44, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his mother-in-law, 73-year-old Cathryn Hilliard, during a domestic dispute at his home in the 300 block of Walker Avenue.Parker is accused of pushing Hilliard to the ground. She suffered minor injuries in the altercation. He was arraigned on a charge of simple assault, and placed in Butler County Prison on $2,000 bail.Thursday — Police charged Alfred D. Bell, 63, of Butler Township with drunken driving stemming from a traffic stop shortly after midnight Aug. 31 at East Cunningham and South Cedar streets.In addition to DUI, Bell is charged with driving without insurance and without valid inspection, and driving an unregistered vehicle.

Tuesday — Police charged Kayla Dietz, 18, of Butler with simple assault and harassment stemming from an Oct. 22 altercation with another student, 18-year-old Sydney Trufley of Butler, at Butler High School.1:51 a.m. Monday — William Cavanaugh Sr., 38, of Butler, allegedly watched a 17-year-old boy he was with shoplift $100 in merchandise from the Walmart in Butler Commons.Cavanaugh is charged with corruption of a minor. The 17-year-old Butler boy, who police did not identify, is charged with retail theft.8:23 p.m. Saturday — Two people were hurt in a three-vehicle collision on Route 8 at Cooledge Road. The crash happened when a vehicle driven by Winnie Klara, 73, of Butler rear-ended another vehicle at the intersection.In turn, the other vehicle, driven by Lucille Druga, 85, of Butler, was pushed into a third vehicle driven by Kenneth Riddle, 41, of Lyndora. Druga and her passenger, who police did not identify, were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.Police cited Klara for driving at an unsafe speed.7:59 p.m. Oct. 12 — Wade J. Heasley, 62, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence in the parking lot of a convenience store on Route 68.

Oct. 30 — Tijuan M. Phillips, 23, of Pittsburgh was arrested in connection with two separate controlled drug buys Oct. 24 at an apartment in the 200 block of East Brady Street.The investigation led officers to obtain a search warrant for the apartment, where Donna Larkin was living. Police said they found Larkin, Phillips and a juvenile, who they did not identify, at the home.The search turned up 49 bags of suspected heroin on a porch roof outside the open window of a bedroom where officers saw Phillips leaving, documents said.Officers said Phillips gave them a bogus name when they initially confronted him.In Larkin's bedroom, officers allegedly found several syringes and a smoke pipe with drug residue.Larkin “admitted that she has been selling heroin and that Phillips has been supplying the heroin to her and that Phillips has been selling also,” according to a police affidavit.Phillips was later arraigned on charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, conspiracy, possession of a controlled substance and false identification to law enforcement authorities.He was placed in Butler County Prison on $75,000 bail, following arraignment.Larkin, who is charged with charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, conspiracy and possession of drug paraphernalia, is free on her own recognizance.

Thursday — One person was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs during a roving DUI patrol in Butler County. In all, officers stopped 52 vehicles.Along with the drugged driving arrest, one person was cited for underage drinking and 29 traffic tickets were issued.State Police, Butler1:50 a.m. Sunday — A Parker man was hurt when he lost control of his sport utility vehicle and crashed into a home in Hovey Township, Armstrong County.Police said Charles C. Caldwell, 24, was driving north on Route 268 when his 1997 Ford Explorer left the road near a slight left turn in the 700 block of North Riverview Avenue.Caldwell's SUV hit a 2013 Kia Sportage that was parked in a private lot and pushed that vehicle into the porch of a nearby house.After hitting the vehicle, the Ford ran into the house, breaching the wall of a bedroom before overturning and landing on its wheels.Caldwell, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by Emlenton Ambulance to Clarion Hospital with unknown injuries. He was cited for a lane violation.
