Sorry, Pittsburgh fans.

Any hope for the Steelers to make a midseason playoff push effectively came to an end on Sunday with a 55-31 defeat to the New England Patriots.

The Steelers have been perennial contenders for the postseason, if not the Super Bowl. Sure, Pittsburgh is still mathematically alive at 2-6, but this team is going nowhere.

The dire scene is unfamiliar for the black and gold faithful. This is what Cleveland is supposed to feel like.

Don’t fret if you’re a die-hard Steelers fan wondering what to do with your time.

There are still plenty of ways to get your sports fix.

The obvious option resides at the Consol Energy Center.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are off to a scorching start with an 11-4 record and are already starting to run away with an otherwise mediocre Metropolitan division.

Sidney Crosby and his league-leading 23 points is the greatest show on ice.

Fellow former MVP Evgeni Malkin hasn’t been scoring at the rate of Sid, but there’s no denying his extreme talent.

Pittsburgh might not be blessed with a great football team this season, but at least there are two of the world’s best when it comes to the puck.

Not a hockey fan? Fine.

Try reliving the sensational season from the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Francisco Liriano was named the NL Comeback Player of the Year earlier this week, while Clint Hurdle is a finalist — and safe bet — to win NL Manager of the Year.

Andrew McCutchen, the face of the franchise, is in the race for NL MVP honors with Arizona’s Paul Goldschmidt and Cincinnati’s Joey Votto.

There’s no better reminder of just how uplifting the season was than to have Pirates showered with recognition.

In the mood for games? The local scene has you covered.

Freeport girls volleyball and Seneca Valley girls soccer are alive for a state title in their respective sports.

Both teams are WPIAL champions, meaning there’s still an opportunity to see the best volleyball and soccer around.

If you’re craving action on the gridiron, Seneca Valley, Mars, Karns City, Slippery Rock Grove City and Union still have plenty to play for.

Seneca Valley and Mars will engage in big-time WPIAL quarterfinal showdowns.

The Raiders take on prestigious Woodland Hills in a matchup of No. 4 and 5 seeds.

The Planets enter as slight underdogs to a potent and stingy Central Valley squad in a clash of No. 3 and 6 seeds.

Karns City has high hopes of earning back-to-back District 9 championships, Slippery Rock enters the District 10 playoffs undefeated and Grove City is never an easy out in D-10.

Union is the ultimate underdog against undefeated and relatively unchallenged Clarion, but hey, you never know.

Pick a game, any game.

It will be the only postseason football available this year.
