Rock at No. 4 in Region One
SLIPPERY ROCK — The Slippery Rock University football team had moved up to fourth in the Division II Super Region One rankings this week.
SRU (8-1) trails only unbeatens West Chester and Shepherd, along with 8-1 Winston-Salem State. The Rock is also ranked 20th on the AFCA Division II Top 25 poll.
The top six ranked teams in each region at the end of the regular season receive Division II playoff bids.
With a victory Saturday at winless Seton Hill, SRU will play the winner of this weekend’s West Chester-Bloomsburg game for the state title Nov. 16 at the site of the PSAC East champion.
