Kathryn Bauder

Kathryn “Katie” (Ziegler) Bauder, 91, of Zelienople was lifted up by the Lord on Sunday.

Born on Aug. 3, 1922, in Harmony, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Nancy Ziegler.

She was born and raised in the famous Ziegler Hotel in Harmony. Both the Bauder and Ziegler families have a long-standing history in the Zelienople and Harmony communities.

Her three children, Nancy Gass, John Scott and Todd Simmons; her two granddaughters, her four great-grandsons, and numerous nephews and nieces will live to remember her story. Equally endearing to her happiness were her countless friends, many of whom reside at Passavant Retirement Community.

In addition to her parents, Katie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert L. Bauder, who passed away on Sept. 20, 2004; her son, Edwin Louis Simmons and her sister, Betty Snaman.

BAUDER — A memorial service for Kathryn “Katie” (Ziegler) Bauder, who passed away Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Peter's Reformed Church, 314-320 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, with the Rev. James R. Bertoti, officiating.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E.
