SLIPPERY ROCK — Dom Francis assisted on the tying goal with 1:31 remaining, then scored the game winner with eight seconds left Wednesday as the Slippery Rock University men’s soccer team defeated Millersville, 4-3.

Josh Brake netted the tying goal for The Rock (12-3-1, 7-3) when he headed a shot over the goalkeeper. Francis received a pass from Declan Brennan to score the game-winner.

SRU closes the regular season Saturday afternoon at Shippensburg.

SRU (women) 2, Millersville 0 — The 14th-ranked Rock won its eighth straight game and guaranteed itself a home playoff game in the PSAC Tournament.

Dara Demich scored both goals for SRU (13-2-1, 12-2-1), giving her nine for the season. Dana O’Neill made two saves in goal for the shutout.

The Rock women also close the regular season Saturday at Shippensburg.
