City to study turning pool into a spray park
The city will have a feasibility study done on the proposed spray park in Memorial Park.
City council approved a motion on Thursday to hire Pashek Associates of Wexford to conduct the study.
Councilwoman Lisa Guard said the study would cost about $17,000.
The money was raised by the Support Our Spray Park nonprofit group, which is interested in converting the Memorial Park swimming pool into a spray park for the city’s children.
Guard said the group has been raising money through various fundraisers and campaigning for the park for more than six years.
She said the study will offer suggestions on what sort of additions can be made to the park and for what price.
There is no estimate on a cost of the project.
Guard said Pashek Associates was chosen because it has done studies for the city in the past.
The study will take about a month to complete.
