Hazardous waste collection added
The Butler County commissioners on Wednesday amended a contract with ECS & R of Cochranton, Crawford County, to allow additional collection dates for hazardous and electronics waste due to high demand for the service.
The last collection the company held for county Recycling & Waste Management on Saturday left a waiting list of people who still wanted to dump waste at the Evans City site.
And that was after the company extended its collection time Saturday.
According to the county department, the original 14 collection dates netted 116,709 pounds of waste from 734 participants, an increase from the 76,524 pounds collected from 557 participants in 2012.
