TOWN CRIER
The Butler School Board Monday night:
✓ Heard three fifth graders from Emily Brittain Elementary School talk about the 10th annual trip to the McKeever Environmental Learning Center. They talked about why the trip is a valuable educational experience and why it should be funded again next year.
✓ Heard from a mother who has children at McQuistion Elementary School about computer programs that were cut last year at three elementary schools. She said such programs are essential for students. Superintendent Mike Strutt said the school is focusing on more computer training at the secondary level rather than the elementary level.
✓ Saw board members John Conrad and Linda Patten receive certificates of appreciation from the board for serving for eight years.
