Grove City students present musical classic

Grove City College will present its fall musical, “Les Misérables,” from Oct. 27 to Nov. 2 in Ketler Auditorium of the Pew Fine Arts Center on the campus in Grove City.

Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. each night.

The musical is directed by Professor James Dixon III, chairman of the English department.

“Les Mis” is an inspirational musical based on the novel of the same name by Victor Hugo.

Set in early 19th-century France, “Les Mis” tells the story of Jean Valjean, a paroled convict; Javert, a police inspector; Fantine, a prostitute; her daughter Cosette; and many others.

Admission is free.

The Nov. 1 and 2 performances are already sold out via on-campus reservations. Tickets for the performances from Oct. 29 to 31 must be reserved in advance at www.gcc.edu/theater.

Doors will open at 7 p.m. Tickets will reserve seats only until 7:15 p.m., at which time all empty seats will be released to walk-in theater-goers.
