BC3 gets 2nd at state golf

Karns City graduate Tucker Preston fired a two-round score of 166 to finish second overall for the Butler County Community College golf team at the Pennsylvania State Invitational Tournament at Penn National Saturday through Monday.

Preston helped the Pioneers finish second in the invitational with a team score of 505. Westmoreland County Community College won the event with a 484.

Jordan Johnson shot a 169, Tyler Friel of Butler a 175, Jayce Corklin a 176, Bill Smith a 179 and Nick Brosius of Freeport a 182.

This was the last event for the fall season for BC3.

Field HockeyBloomsburg scored just two minutes into the game on the way to handing Slippery Rock University a 3-1 loss Tuesday afternoon.Allison Shade scored the only goal for The Rock (6-8, 2-4).
