Jack's 5 goals spark Freeport

Erica Jack scored five goals as the Freeport girls soccer team continued to roll with an 8-1 win over Indiana.

Dava Jack, a defensive player, scored her first goal of the season for the Yellowjackets (10-6-1, 9-4-1).

Haley Redmond and Megan Manke also scored.

Slippery Rock 15, Oil City 0 — Jenny Dudek scored five goals and Molly Joyce added three in the Rockets’ rout.

Loran Leonberg and Jenna Whitmer chipped in two goals each and Skyler Hinchberger, Charlene Doerr and Emily DiSanti also scored.

Abby Magliocca added three assists.

Boys SoccerNoah Pollock scored a goal, but Karns City gave up the tying goal with 14 seconds remaining in regulation and the winning goal with one minute remaining in the second overtime to drop a 2-1 decision to Mercer.The Gremlins are now 9-2 overall.Shady Side Academy 2, Knoch 0 — Brett Miner was in goal for the Knights in this Tuesday game.

Cross CountrySlippery Rock 26, Wilmington 40 (girls); Wilmington 20, Slippery Rock 35 (boys) — The Rockets’ Drew Maxwell was the top overall boys finisher Tuesday with a time of 17 minutes, 55 seconds. SR’s Tabitha Donaldson was the top overall finisher for the girls at 22:18.

Trevor Barnhart, Ben Miller, Alan Han and Bosco Garcia had a goal each.Harvest 3, First Baptist Christian (volleyball) 0 — Corrie Kennedy had 11 service points and four aces in FBC’s 25-21, 25-18, 25-16 loss. Lyndsey Lowe added 10 kills, Casey Hall 17 passes, Emily Rowland 11 assists.
