Rivals all tied up

Freeport and Knoch battled to a 2-2 tie in a Section 2-AA girls soccer tilt on Monday.

Erica Jack and Megan Manke both scored a goal and Raine Carney had 10 saves in net for the Yellowjackets (7-5-1, 6-3-1) while Olivia Sharbaugh and Kaelyn Oskin both scored for the Knights (9-3-1, 7-2-1).

Karns City 10, Keystone 0 — Emily LoPresti, Breann Wood and Megan McCartney each scored a pair of goals in the Gremlins' rout.

Caterina LoPresti, Carlee Boltz, Collette Stahlman and goalkeeper Morgan Deal also scored for Karns City (10-0).

Deal and Alison Boltz combined for the shutout.

Freeport sophomore Audrey Clawson placed seventh at the WPIAL Girls Golf Championship at Hillcrest Country Club, shooting an 83.The effort was good enough to advance Clawson to the PIAA Western Regional.
