Stutz nets 3 for SR
Joshua Stutz scored three goals and Jason Bluedorn recorded five saves in goal at the Slippery Rock High boys soccer team blanked Grove City 4-0 Thursday night.
Luc LaChance also scored for Slippery Rock.
Mark Cessar had a pair of assists for the Rockets (7-3-1, 3-0-1).
Karns City 6, Clarion-Limestone 0 — Tyler Pollock scored three goals as the Gremlins rolled.
Spencer Myers added two goals and Noah Pollock also found the net for Karns City (6-1).
Butler 4, Shaler 0 — Matt Huey scored two goals for the Golden Tornado. Anthony Werth added a goal and assist, John Fleming a goal.
Sam Horne also contributed an assist and Adam Voelker earned the shutout in net.
Zac McCue fired an 80 to help Slippery Rock to a fourth-place finish in the 21-team Meadville Invitational at the Country Club of Meadville.The Rockets shot 338 as a team. Cathedral Prep won the tournament with a 308.Grove City, led by Matt Gordon with an 82, finished fifth, one stroke behind Slippery Rock.The Slippery Rock junior varsity team came up with a big win over Butler, 234-243.Luke Barnhart shot a 40 for the Rockets.
