Knoch rolls along

Brandon Vargo tallied a pair of goals to lead Knoch's boys soccer team to a 5-0 win at Kittanning on Wednesday.

Also scoring for the Knights (7-3-3, 5-1-1) were Ben Andrews, Jonmichael Lambert and Bob Larrimer.

Brett Miner earned the shutout in net.

Deer Lakes 2, Mars 1 — No other details were available from this Section 2-AA loss for the Planets (7-4, 4-3).

Natalie Grice had 24 assists and five digs to pace Mars to a 3-0 win over Deer Lakes.Maggie McKernan added 15 digs, Elise Sheehy nine kills, Hannah Both seven kills and Maria Nicassio five kills.The Planets (6-2, 5-1) won by scores of 25-16, 25-22 and 25-16.

Butler's top doubles team of Zoe McCafferty and Gretchen Wilson defeated Knoch's Molly Conlon and Alice Gordon 10-2 at the WPIAL Section 2 doubles tournament before losing to North Allegheny's Tristyn Maalouf and Tina Li 10-2.The Golden Tornado's No. 2 team of Emma Brestensky and Olivia Girdano lost to Seneca Valley's Jane Vandrak and Allie Head 10-5.
