8:29 a.m. Wednesday — Brandon Keina, 23, of Riverview, Mich., drove through a red light at Pittsburgh Road and Route 8 and crashed into another car. Keina was attempting to make a left turn onto Route 8 when he struck the front of the other car driven by Justin T. Maskal, 29, of Butler.According to a police report, Keina said he did not see the red light because the sun was in his eyes. He was not cited in the accident.Wednesday — Edward Halagich, 42, of Summit Township was arrested after he allegedly made an agreement to fix a car, then took the money and never completed the job.Halagich was arraigned on a charges of theft by deception, and later placed in the Butler County Prison on $700 bail.According to court documents, the alleged victim, Stephen McGregor of Butler, and the defendant earlier this year came to an agreement for a vehicle body work project in which Halagich would be paid. The suspect took McGregor's vehicle and money but apparently did no work. The vehicle also has not been returned.McGregor told police that he tried repeatedly over the past three months to contact Halagich but to no avail. His efforts included sending the defendant a certified letter, police said.7:35 p.m. Tuesday — Joseph M. Gall, 32, of Middlesex Township is accused of grabbing his 4-year-old daughter during a domestic dispute at the home of the child's mother in the 900 block of West New Castle Street.Keilynn Shaffer told police that she and the defendant, the father of her children, got into an argument over the custody of their children. Shaffer said she was holding the 4-year-old when Gall grabbed the girl's arm and tried to pull her away.The defendant ripped the sleeve off the child's shirt, documents said, and injured her arm. Police charged Gall with child endangerment.
1:43 p.m. Wednesday — James J. Tiana, 54, was cited for theft of services after he consumed drinks at the Crossbow Lounge in the Lyn-Mar Plaza and failed to pay for them.
1:15 a.m. today — A speeding 2002 Ford F-250 pickup truck was severely damaged when the driver lost control, sideswiped a tree and rolled the truck onto its side on Route 268 just south of Route 58 in Hovey Township, Armstrong County. The driver fled the scene of the crash, which remains under investigation.8:14 p.m. Thursday — Kayla T. Barry, 24, of West Sunbury was arrested after she allegedly assaulted a 54-year-old man and 43-year-old woman at a home on Lou Lin Mar Lane in Concord Township.Police said Barry struck the victims, both of West Sunbury, and spit blood in their faces. She was placed in the Butler County Prison to await arraignment this morning on charges of simple assault, harassment, terroristic threats and possession of drug paraphernalia.Thursday — Lisa P. Lang, 40, of Berlin Center, Ohio, was arraigned on charges she illegally tried to buy a gun in November 2011 from a Donegal Township gun store. Police allege Lang lied on her application to buy the firearm at the Butler Gun Emporium on Route 68.Lang, who is charged with making a false written statement to buy a gun and unsworn falsification to authorities, is free on her own recognizance.10:45 p.m. Wednesday — Adam J. Compton, 25, of Butler was arrested after he allegedly entered a home through a rear window and assaulted his former girlfriend at a home on Game Reserve Road in Clearfield Township.Compton was arraigned on charges of simple assault, harassment, unlawful restraint, disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail, following arraignment.9:30 p.m. Wednesday — Mark E. Boyle, 23, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Herman Road at the Franklin Ball Fields in Summit Township.5:19 p.m. Tuesday — Dylan J. Thomas, 20, of Clintonville, Venango County, was cited for driving at an unsafe speed after he struck three vehicles in Mercer Township.Police said Thomas was unable to stop his car in time on Route 8, just south of Centertown Road, and hit three other cars driven by Brooke D. Milliron, 36, of Harrisville; Thomas Graham, 66, of Carlton, Mercer County; and Phyllis A. Umstead, 64, of Grove City.Monday — A 75-foot piece of aluminum braided line was stolen from a shed in a burglary at a home on Carbon Center Road about three-tenths of a mile north of Route 422 in Summit Township. The break-in happened between Aug. 12 and Monday.6 p.m. Saturday — A 40-year-old East Butler man, who police did not identify, is suspected of stealing 70 feet of copper pipe from the basement of a home on Broadway Street in East Butler.Sept. 4 — A 12-gauge Remington pump-action shotgun, .22-caliber rifle, four electric drills and a 16-inch Craftsman chain saw were taken from a home in Jefferson Township.The unknown burglar took the property from several outbuildings at the home on Patterson Road about one-third of a mile north of Bullcreek Road in Jefferson Township The break-in happened between Aug. 14 and Sept. 4.
